"Passing of the Swans" signifies the freedom to move.
A dirt road that runs between Latrobe and Michigan Bar on the Cosumnes River, takes you back in time and into another dimension. It's one of those magic places. Nobody lives out there except in one ramshackle old two story box of a house that looks as if it had been built a hundred years before paint was invented. These strange rocks stick up out of the ground, pointing at the sky like missiles. The air has a peculiar shimmer"

Bermuda Stroller

"I was in Bermuda looking for subjects to paint. I was not sure this area was safe for me to be in by myself. The subject in the painting came out of one of the buildings and was well dressed and approached me in a very courteous manner. We spoke for awhile and I realized I was welcome in this remote little town. We all have the right to come and go. I was not sure I would be welcome in this run-down part of Bermuda but I was."
